“Wotes” and “Webary”
So, this is a funny one, I had to write it
…now that I have officially started blogging…i was telling a friend about my blogging experience…and he asked me what I write in my blog…and I said, actually I am using my blog to keep “web-notes” for my dissertation. He suggested that then I should call my blog, “wotes” instead of a blog..because if “blog” can be a short for “web-log” then why not “wotes” for “web-notes”. Then we started inventing more words, and for “web-diary” we came up with “webary”…but when i suggested “webournal” for “web-journal” he said it sounds like “burnol” and i gave up
but I quite like the idea of “wotes” and “webary”…and if you can come up with more…feel free to suggest…it would be good to have some interesting “web-language” and no i am not even suggesting “webbage”…:)

Hi Priya,
I am delighted to see that you have put the “webary” and “wotes” words we invented on your blog, and launched them into the cosmic void!
As you say, “webournal” has antiseptic associations. But the one I am glad you left out, is the verb to describe making entries in a webary i.e the act of “webaring”… not sure about this one Priya. It has connotations of disrobing while keeping the diary.
But the best thing is, I think you have inspired me to start a blog!
webguage…
for starters!
justine…this may be the beginning of an entirely new lexicon!
